The Reverend Dr. Horace H. Wade, Jr. is a native of Portsmouth, VA.  Upon graduating from I. C. Norcom High School (Portsmouth, VA), he matriculated at OldDominionUniversity (Norfolk, VA) graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Journalism. Answering the call to the Ministry, he continued his studies at VirginiaUnionUniversity (Richmond, VA) and received a Master of Divinity degree.  Additionally, Dr. Wade was awarded a Doctor of Divinity degree from Richmond Virginia Seminary.

Rev. Dr. Wade served as pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Drewryville, VA (1984-88), Gethsemane Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA (1989-97), and First Union Baptist Church in Richmond, VA (97-2/13).

 Pastor Wade founded Rising Liberty Church on February 10, 2013 in which he is the pastor and his wife serves as the church’s administrator. Rising Liberty Church currently meets at 7120 Midlothian Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23225 at 10 A.M. (near Virginia College, across the street from Krispy Kreme Doughnuts)

Rev. Dr. Wade is a member of numerous professional organizations including the Baptist General Association of Virginia, Baptist Ministers Conference of Richmond and Vicinity and the Hampton University Ministers Conference.  He was a member of the first graduating class of the Richmond Chaplain Police Academy.

Rev. Dr. Wade is married to the former Sylvia Shoulders and is the father of Horace H. Wade III and David McKinley Wade.
